A lighthearted twist on the traditional shibori dye, an ancient art of shape resist dyeing, these hand dyed linen pillows are crafted in Ottawa, Ontario. Fustic is derived from the heartwood of a tall tropical hardwood tree from the Mulberry family found throughout Central America, Mexico, the West Indies and Brazil. This dye was used to dye khaki uniforms for the US Army in WW1. It can also be mixed with indigo dye to produce teal and forest greens.
This natural dye has high light and wash-fastness.Exposure to strong sunlight may darken colours.
Wash with gentle detergent (we recommend soak!), hand to dry, iron on linen setting, if needed
